The department of Commerce was set up in the year 1996-97 with a mission to become a leading centre of excellence in quality education and also to excel in teaching and research through creativity and productivity. The Department is well equipped with qualified and dedicated teaching staff. The Department has been giving excellent results ever since its inception. Many students have made us proud by giving outstanding results and they have scored centrums in different practical subjects. Regular Internals and Preparatory exams are conducted and Assignments are given to the students to assess the performance of students. Remedial classes are taken for the slow learners. The Faculty members of the department use Innovative Teaching through ICT.

Over the years our students have achieved Academic Excellence and have been placed in reputed Companies like Infosys, IBM, Accenture, Mphasis, Amazon and many more. We have made continuous effort to keep Industry Interaction and Interface for the student Projects and Placement . The Department has set up Industry Institutional Interface Cell to create and sustain interactions with Corporate world. The Department regularly plans different Co-Curricular events like guest lecture and workshops and seminars by eminent-Educationists , Industry Personnel from reputed industries, and Corporate Trainers under Commerce Association.

Our Faculty members are continuously engaged in counselling and guiding the students. Macauro is an initiative started by the Department of Commerce and Management Department to empower the students to face the challenges of the outside world.

The Department is associated with the alumni council. They meet twice a year to plan for the Career and Personality Development Programmes for their Juniors. They also contribute books to the Library.
